This article shows you the process for editing an existing Account/Organisation record in Salesforce.
Using Search to Find & Edit
To update an Account/Organisation record, search for the Account/Organisation via the Global Search and click on the Account/Organisation Name to access the record or click Edit to view the record in Edit mode.
If you haven't accessed the record in Edit mode, you can click the Edit Button on the Account/Organisation Detail Page or hover over a field and double click to only update that field.
In edit mode all editable fields (not read only fields) will be visible and you can make updates as needed. Click Save to commit the updates to the database.
Related Lists will not be visible in edit mode. Save the record and scroll down the detail page to view related lists.
Inline editing is when you hover and double click on a field to open up only that particular field for editing. After making the update the field value will appear orange and needs to be saved. Click Save to commit the update to the database.
